The lodge

Surroundings

It’s a small piece of paradise, surrounded by mountains, only 10km from Bourg d’Oisans and on the edge of the Ecrins national park.

At 1300m, the village is south facing and a lovely place to be. The lodge is an old vicarage that was restored in 1987 (we fell in love with it!). It’s next to an old church, on a beautiful piece of property (the only flat piece of land in the village!) where 5 linden trees grow (they’re over 300 years old!). The 360° views include the Taillefer, Col d’Ornon and Les Grandes Rousses. Time almost stands still in this magnificent environment. It’s a breath of fresh air and makes you come alive.

It’s an excellent basecamp to enjoy the surrounding mountains, summer or winter, or to simply spend some quality time with friends or family. It’s also perfect for a stopover while touring on foot, on a bike, a horse, a van or on skis…

Features

Lodge ground floor has:

• a large living area (65 m2) with an open plan style kitchen (with all the necessary equipment for 2 to 15 people).
• a lounge with a fireplace.
• a large wood stove that heats the lodge and helps dry clothes or ski gear.
• A winter entrance/mud room where you can leave your skis, mountaineering gear or bikes.
• A bathroom with 2 showers and 2 sinks and two separate toilets

First floor has:

• 5 rooms (total of 15 beds): 1 room with a double bed, 3 rooms with 4 single beds, 1 mezzanine with 2 single beds.
• 1 bathroom with shower.
• 1 toilet.

Outside has:

• A large south facing deck (200m2) with tables and a barbecue.

Catering

The Lodge is available for self-catering and has a kitchen/cooking area for 15 people (equipped with professional 5 burner cooktop, 2 ovens, dishes/cutlery, pots and pans, raclette and fondue machines).

You also have the option of having meals cooked for you (breakfast/lunch/dinner/sandwiches) at our neighbour’s lodge: Mr Marc Thevenieau (Gîte du Chat Loupé).

Meals can also be ordered for delivery. This can be done by booking with him directly:

These meals are simple yet prepared with care and very tasty, made with produce from his own garden. A warm welcome, a little music, a great atmosphere and lovely presentation.

Services

We work closely with locally sourced/produced food for all your needs.

Some examples:

“La Bergerie de la Lignarre”:

For its famous ewe cheeses, its yoghurts or its tender lamb. It’s also a small grocery store. Be sure to look at their opening times, they’re worth a visit!

“Les Jardins du Col”:

Théo, from the Chantelouve lodge, grows his own vegetables and sells them on site. He also has a delivery service from June to october, call at 35 64 85 98 7 33+ .

Épicerie Écrin Bio:

If you are touring (on foot or on a bike), you can also get your groceries delivered from the Bourg d’Oisans organic store “Écrin Bio”.
