Coming by train and bus
Train to Grenoble, leaving the station on your left, you will find the bus station and a bus that will take you to Bourg d’Oisans.
Then several possibilities:
- Hitchhiking technique works relatively well with the inhabitants from the town (get off at the hamlet of La Paute, 2 km before Bourg d’Oisans if the bus stops there or walk back there, about 2 km).
- The possibility of calling us and seeing if we can pick you up.

- Taxi Sert Marc -Walking from the hamlet of La Paute. Very pretty trail along the Lignarre (2H30).
Pedestrian access
Coming from Bourg d’Oisans
In the village of La Paute (2 km from Bourg d’Oisans in the direction of Grenoble) and at a place called La Lignarre, you will find a trail that will take you to the village of Ornon. The trail goes along the torrent of the Lignarre to the hamlet of La Palud.
At first it is a track but then it turns into a nice trail from the hydroelectric power station. The trail follows La Lignarre.
Once you arrive at the hamlet of La Palud, you will have two solutions, either the GR50 which starts from the top of the hamlet of La Palud to Ornon Village (1 hour with a fairly steep drop) or the new trail which starts from the exit of the hamlet (follow the road for 500 meters) then on your left, a trail climbs towards the hamlet of La Poyat then before the hamlet, take the trail to Ornon at the fork on the left, it climbs in zig-zags and arrives above the lodge (the trail is more interesting than the GR 50 (1H30)).
Ascent of about 600 meters.
Coming from the Taillefer plateau:
Follow the GR 50 to the village of Ornon and head towards the church, the lodge is in the presbytery.Refuge du Taillefer/Ornon 1h45.
Coming from the Col d’Ornon
Take the trail that leads to the Rivier d’Ornon, descend to the Pouthuire, the Poyat d’Ornon and then the trail to top of the village which leads to Ornon village, 2h.
